Jason Bay smashed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the St. Paul Saints beat the
Nimrod Numnuts by a score of 9 to 7.
Bay enjoyed a big day at the plate. He cracked a two-run shot in the 5th
inning and cleared the fences for a two-run home run (his 10th of the season)
in the 7th inning. Nimrod threatened in the 9th but St. Paul was able to put
down the rally.
The winning pitcher was Jamie Moyer(5-2) who allowed 6 runs in 8 and 2/3
innings. Doug Davis(1-3) was hit with the loss. By surrending 6 runs in 4
and 2/3 innings his ERA jumped from 5.27 to 6.19.
When questioned about the loss, Mark Salzwedel said, 'The fans got to see an
exciting game out there this afternoon. Unfortunately, we couldn't get it
done this time. Next time, though, we'll be the clubhouse with all the
smiles.'
